Rail Shoulders

Rail Shoulders are cast in the concrete ties for fixation of Elastic Rail Clips. Our Iron Shoulders are manufactured from pearlitic malleable iron and spheroid graphite iron. We offer two types of rail  shoulders for sale :the cast-in shoulder and the weld-on shoulder, both of which are used for the fixing of elastic rail clips.

 Cast-in Rail Shoulder

As the embedded part of rail fastening system, the casting shoulders as the embedded part of the rail way fastening system are pressed in concrete sleeper and work together with the E clip to fasten the rail. The cast in shoulder is made by casting from iron, such as, GB/T 1348-1988, NF EN 1563(1997), ISO1038, DIN 1693, JIS G5502 (2001), KS D 4302, GOST 7293(1985) or BS EN 1563(1997).The mechanical property and chemical composition of the rail cast iron shoulder are shown below:

Weld-on shoulder

Weld-on shoulder is made by hot forging, and such shoulder is used for places where standard sleepers are unable to be easily used so the shoulders need to be welded on the flat steel base plates. The weld-on rail shoulders are applied at the typical position of rail track where the rail shoulders are weld on flat steel plate rather than the standard tie plate. As its name, the weld-on rail shoulders are produced by hot forging, according to AREMA standard. In general, the materials for weld-on rail shoulders production should be low or mid carbon steel, just according to the clients’ requirements.
